Real Time Evaluation (RTE) to Support Organizational Change
Overview: The Inclusion Firm embarked on a transformative journey in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to address organizational change at both the systemic and individual levels. The goal was to provide senior leaders, supervisors, and employees with the essential tools and insights required for a successful and inclusive restructuring process.
Purpose of the Real-Time Evaluation (RTE) to Support Organizational Change was to conduct weekly assessments focused on employee experiences and perspectives relevant to transformational change. The evaluations were specifically designed to:
- Improve communication between leaders and employees, fostering increased psychological safety.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the decision-making process.
- Facilitate timely responses to issues.
- Guide the development of tools to support supervisors in their efforts.
A process of both quantitative and qualitative data collection was undertaken to allow the CDC to comprehend employee concerns, observations, and needs. The results offered leadership immediate insights into employee well-being and highlighted pain points that might not be apparent to everyone.
Results: Throughout a six-month period, hundreds of employees participated in weekly pulse surveys and gatherings. Actionable recommendations, grounded in evidence and literature, were formulated for leadership and other key areas of focus. Immediate attention was given to various topics, including communication, human resources, work-life balance, employee resilience, unit collaboration, supervisor guidance, resource concerns, and program-related content.
